Instructor Apprenticeship Program Overview

Our Instructor Apprenticeship Program is a 6-month, application-based training designed to prepare instructors to teach beginner to intermediate level classes safely, effectively, and professionally.

This program emphasizes teaching methodology, communication, class structure, and real-world readiness rather than performance or advanced skills. Apprentices receive ongoing mentorship, structured education, and applied teaching experience through a hybrid model combining in-studio training and coursework.

This apprenticeship is an educational program and is not tied to guaranteed employment.

  • Are willing to commit to a 6-month training process

This program is not intended for those seeking fast-track teaching opportunities or guaranteed schedule placement.

Program Focus & Scope

The apprenticeship prepares instructors to confidently teach beginner to intermediate level group classes.

Training focuses on:

  • Class structure and pacing

  • Cueing and communication for diverse learning styles

  • Student management and classroom leadership

  • Safety-first decision-making

  • Spotting awareness and instruction, including:

    • When spotting is appropriate

    • When spotting is not appropriate

    • Verbal vs physical spotting

    • Instructor positioning and risk awareness

Advanced-level skills and performance-based instruction are not the primary focus of this program.

Program Structure

Duration: 6 months

Format: Hybrid (in-studio instruction + structured coursework)

The program includes:

  • Unlimited studio membership for the duration of the apprenticeship

  • Weekly in-studio and/or hybrid mentorship meetings

  • Biweekly semi-private or small-group in-studio training sessions

  • Structured hybrid coursework and assignments

  • In-studio class observation and practice teaching

  • Ongoing evaluation and instructional readiness assessment

Program Investment: $2,250

This investment reflects the depth, structure, and individualized support provided throughout the program.

Payment Options:

  • $350 non-refundable deposit due upon acceptance

  • Remaining balance split into monthly payments over the duration of the program

  • There are limited work study scholarships available on a first come basis

How do I apply?

  • This is an application-based program

  • Not all applicants will be accepted

  • Completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment

  • Apprentices may be recommended to pass, extend, or exit the program based on evaluation outcomes

The next apprenticeship cohort is tentatively scheduled to begin February 2026.

Final start dates will be confirmed with accepted applicants prior to the start of the program.
